SAMPLE ITINERARIES
Days aboard Caribbean Explorer II generally involve breakfast from 7 am to 8 am (cold breakfasts are available for late risers), followed by two morning dives, lunch at 12:30 pm, afternoon dolphin encounters or dives, dinner at 6:30 pm, and a night dive. Island shore excursions will be arranged when possible for those interested.
Please note also that these itineraries are an example only, and will change depending on weather and logistics at the Captain’s discretion.
Departure: October 10, 2009
Southbound Exploration/Transit Expedition Trip Information sheet (pdf)
Saturday: Freeport (Port Lucaya)
1500 - Guests board the Caribbean Explorer I
1830 - Dinner.
2000 - Captain’s briefing, documents, etc.
2100 - Shore leave, or simply relax aboard.
Sunday: Cat Cay
Early morning departure for the 1 hour transit to Cat Cay. This day is spent diving in the area of Cat Cay. 4-5 dives offered, depending on tide
and logistics.
Monday: Northwest Channel & Joulters Cays
Midnight departure for the 8 hour transit from Cat Cay to Northwest Channel. This day is spent diving while in transit between Northwest Channel and Joulters Cays. 3-5 dives offered, depending on tide, travel & logistics.
Tuesday: North Andros
Midnight departure for the 8 hour transit from Cat Cay to Northwest Channel. This day is spent diving while in transit between Northwest Channel and Joulters Cays. 3-5 dives offered, depending on tide, travel & logistics.
Wednesday: Northern Exumas
Early morning departure for 4 1/2 hour transit from North Andros to the Northern Exumas. This day is spent diving while in transit between Allan's Cay and Norman's Cay in the northern Exumas. 3-5 dives offered, depending on tide, travel & logistics.
Thursday: Southern Exumas
Early Morning departure for the 4 hour transit from Norman's Cay to Staniel Cay. This day is spent diving while in transit between Staniel Cay and Great Exuma, in the southern Exumas. 3-5 dives offered, depending on tide, travel & logistics.
Friday: Southern Exumas & George Town
Two morning dives offered in the southern Exumas, with arrival in George Town scheduled for early afternoon. Afternoon at leisure; dinner ashore, with night spent aboard vessel at dock.
Saturday: George Town
0700/0830 - Continental breakfast
0900 - Depart the Caribbean Explorer I. Should you be leaving on an afternoon flight, feel free to leave your luggage on the dock alongside the vessel until you depart; we will watch over it.
Due to the necessity of readying the vessel for our next cruise, we must strictly enforce the 9 am departure.
